WIP 2B ~ Quilting the Chickadee Tree

Well I am coming along this week on my Chickadee Tree Quilt. Pin basted and ready to quilt.

First ~ doing all the tree limbs. I used my darning foot. Feed dogs down and a zig zag stitch. Added smaller branches off the larger ones.

Second ~  add some snow on some of the branches! Free hand motion slightly curved stitches. Fill in light thread art.

Third ~  free motion quilting with a variegated  poly thread that sparkles! Small snow swirl! Not done yet but getting there.

I haven’t decided how I am going to do the Chickadee eyes yet. I might have to paint them in over the thread. Also thinking of adding a three dimensional nest!
